Saying “itelisense style hints are useful” and “I’m too lazy to read documentation so typings help me” are both perfectly valid. But that’s quite a different claim to the one I responded to

Do you include Babel in preprocessors? Or webpack? Because if so that would a) limit things considerably and b) be a little misleading

It’s open source but not free software. I’m honestly ok with that because I think making a living is important & the Linux distros are really bad at supporting authors of software. Fixable problem but appears to lack the will.

I think that kind of test would be more useful on CI hardware that’s usually pretty consistent but it’s a good point to raise.

It was never "free" as such - you were always supposed to pay for it - but it was possible to build it yourself. You did the right thing.

> That's not really that much, but it is surprisingly much for a single open source dev. $500 a month? That means, roughly, it's worth ~4 hours of his time a month . Tops. Yikes. That's a perfect illustration of the issue

I don't think it should be framed as Vue vs React in the first place. They approach similar (but not quite the same) problems in different ways. They are both really great! It doesn't have to be zero sum.

Given the most popular use of Snapchat is AR... and it’s fundamental to their user experience. Yes, yes it’s because of AR.

The comment about Minesweeper is a particularly smart observation that is true of AR as well.

Snapchat, for one. But what you’re describing is an unrealized or early market. That’s an upside - not a negative.

It had a resolution! It just wasn’t the cathartic, neat, hero-walks-into-the-sunset resolution that so much American storytelling ends with. It’s a more thoughtful, open ended, resolution. One that leaves you asking questions rather than no

And this is why socks & hubs exist. Sounds like you have a base station in all but name. Also there is nothing stopping that 4K TV from supporting both video AND power over USB-C.

No, it’s literally an edge case. For the target market anyhow. Also it’s not just “adding another port”. It’s adding all the circuitry, changing the internal routing, changing the logic board, adding at least one more IC... etc. For what? A

All browsers supported the verbs for years . IE7 had mostly full support (not PATCH though, annoyingly). The problem was mostly backend related: most servers didn't support them. DELETE for example has been supported for over 12 yea
