Cool! Is there a plan to “renovate”nextcloud? Rewrite the code base in a modern fast memory safe language (nextcloud is slow), and make the web interface look better and less buggy (compare with synology). Also, nextcloud has too many produ

You mean if you change address to outside EU, you can’t keep your eu domain? They tend to be cheap.

Yes, that’s the downside. But if you run Pangolin on a VPS, there is no downside in that respect: in both cases a cloud provider has access. Authentik behind Caddy does that too.

It sounds more like an alternative to Cloudflare Tunnels. Except, the Cloudflare access is secured by Cloudflare security team.

I switched to Caddy from nginx and Traefik, and never looked back. Why do I need to write a lot of code to say map example.com to 1.2.3.4? I get there are headers etc, but in most cases, it should be just one line, with sane defaults. That’

The government itself is often a big violator, and is very difficult to sue. The judges are not going to meaningfully punish the governments. I dealt with such case and won legally but did not win anything economically.

How does it with the darlene of HN, Tailscale?! Tailscale has magic DNS. Can you use a custom domain and DNS entries in any of these mesh VPNs?

Given that Google has vast resources, someone with no background in security should still be able to infer that Chrome is likely to be more secure. On this topic, I wonder if Chrome’s safe browsing notably improves the user’s security? It s

Tailscale doesn’t route all your traffic by default. It routes only traffic destined to Tailscale IPs, which in your case should be near zero. You can use an exit node. In that case it will route all your traffic to your home network.

I see your point. You are talking about a vulnerability. You are right. Tailscale nodes can send packets processed in any other node, irrespectively of ACLs. Essentially each node gets to “run code” in other nodes, which is normally dropped

You would typically remove the default any to any ACL rule, and allow the connections that you need. The compromised node normally would not have access to anything interesting. Normally it’s jailed, or would not be able to make outgoing c
