I was once asked casually by someone I had just met what are good resources for computer science. I started listing MIT OCW and was about to recommend a bunch of math textbooks that I thought were relevant before I realized he was asking ho

Thanks for the recommendation. Just briefly reviewing it, this is the kind of book I tend to shy away from. I'm sure it's a good reference for a particular type of group theory but I doubt I would use this type of book for anythin

My education on groups is by far and away deficient but one of the better books I came across is called "Fundamental Algorithms for Permutation Groups" by G. Butler [0]. It's kind of old (1991) but, in my opinion, excellent,

This is, as stated, again classical correlation. Where have you used the fact that the observation of one marble affects the observation of the other? Your above experiment could be done with just a simple bag and two marbles without the ne

|X(0) - X(a)| = 2, not 1 and X(a) != Y(a) The subtler issue is that it's a counterfactual question. What would have happened if I had measured or been able to measure all three angles 0, a, 2a? In this case the bit string is the same e

I see, I actually answered the wrong question, sorry about that. I'm also a bit confused by why it can't be used to send information but here's a try: In the above scenario, if the particle (pair) has completely random spin,

Let's say particles have a 'direction angle' that we can measure with a detector that only gives 'up' or 'down' relative to a direction angle measurement. We can change this direction angle measurement wit

I think I've probably watched 1000+ movies. I've tapered off as I got older (I'm in my 40s now) but at least one movie every 5 days seems like a low bar I would regularly hit. What the author says is true, I tend to see commo
