At first read the idea you propose is very attractive but I think you do need to address why APL didn't take off. Perhaps they chose a poor vocabulary, are there better ways to represent algorithms?

VB 1.0 was a revolution, really. I went on to buy Delphi and Paradox. Delphi was really something but the nod has to go to VB for the massive leap it took. It's not just 25 years for VB, it's 25yrs for all those GUI developers who

I enjoyed this little foray into the wilds of the Unicode(TM) landscape and typographic emptiness. As an aside, my interest in typography is matched by my interest in maps, and I've met numerous other men who share an interest in both

The question is too vague to give a good brief answer. Narrowing it down, I believe that it is possible for a good driver to reduce the stop-go element of heavy traffic by following the car in front at a judicious (more than average) distan

When the deadline is tight and you don't have to debug the bluetooth stack to see why it doesn't work on Samsung XYZ on Android ABC, then SO is a godsend.

We (I include myself here) can learn so much from this post. First, let my convey my deep sympathy to Jeffrey for going through this now - a roller coaster of hope and fear as death approaches. I have some experience of it myself. The first

Maybe Jewish women started being accused of 'making a political statement' and being harrassed in the street because they covered their hair, so they had to make a compromise.

Great job. A few years ago I did something very similar myself but just for arabic - www.arabicreader.net (still running but needing some TLC) - but didn't pursue it the same way you've done. I take my hat off to you!

Sorry but that's an old, tired argument that only occasionally gets aired these days. Running a pre-processor as part of the build process does not mean that Qt is not standard C++. Also, if you knew anything about the history of Micro

I think this is a US/UK English thing, in the US 'quite' only means 'very' whereas in the UK it often means 'a bit'. (I'm guessing your from the UK).
