In Texas, they 'lobbied' (bribed, imo) the state government to overturn Austin's plastic bag ban. It occurs to me that the most workable tax policy that can be passed in the US today consists of politicians raising their

Mine was the UBPorts edition but I believe the latest shipped phone is Manjaro based. I was planning to try that as well at some point but the current version I have makes me happy enough to not want to experiment anymore :) . Edit0: s/

I have a Pavilion 17" laptop from 2014 that is on 24/7 and still works[1] as of this day :) . I am also a big fan of the prosumer/business products (e.g. Elite) - love the easy user maintainability and support. Thank you. [1]

Me too, re. Nest Secure - it seemed like a perfect no-contract product for managing security. It is a bizarre move given their investment/buyout (not sure) of ADP. Here's hoping Google's new year's resolution for 2021 is

I moved my purchased music to YT Music in additional to having previously downloaded it but I am not super happy: the old model of buying a song or an album and then downloading it seems to no longer be an option in this craven new world -

I have the same problem except it is the battery pack for my original Sony Aibo (1st gen robot dog.) I had the cells replaced once using an eBay service but they didn't last very long.

My MC, issued by a US credit union, does require PINs. Most checkouts in the US or Canada require me to enter a PIN when using this card, though this somewhat seems to also be a function of the purchase amount.

I wonder if things would change if the os updates were handled by a different vendor, i.e. a model where the phone makers sold hardware and os vendors sold installs/updates? Maybe if the motivations of phone makers were decoupled from
