> This is a dumb change. No part of a domain should be considered "trivial". As an ISP, we often have to go to great lengths to teach users that "www.domain.com" and "domain.com" are two different domains..

"Leave no trace" has always been a fake Burning Man ideal. Sure, they clean up after themselves, but hauling a mini city onto the desert and back (incl. water and sewage) leaves a relatively large per-attendee carbon footprint. Th

So it uses concrete which is VERY BAD and also needs a lot of it, but at maybe 1/6th the impact of regular concrete.[1] It's unclear how this works out in the end. Exactly how much cement do they need to scale this up? What's

Has anyone heard any more details on how GreyKey bypasses secure boot on the iPhone? Do we know the T2 has fixed that flaw?

What are the mobile prospects here? Sound like the main motivation is that phone numbers are not secure second factors. But the result is a solution that only works on desktops (is that correct?) and requires a physical key that can be easi

I too am very happy with Reeder. It actually is kept up to date. Came out with iPhone X support promptly, for example. I think we’re just conditioned to expect super frequent updates for everything every few weeks. Reeder is old school that

Roads are literally the classic example of induced demand. The price is the opportunity cost of using them. You build more, you lower that cost, more people decide to start driving. Not that hard to understand. Perhaps a fair proxy for tech

I have to say I loved growing up in midwestern nature. It's not a touristy sight-seeing nature like we have in the SFBA but there is just so much of it and you are surrounded by it and it's yours to play with. So.. as you said,

These are all very good points. I recently visited the midwestern city near where I grew up and was AMAZED, as a longtime SF resident, at the spacious cafes in gorgeous brick and timber buildings that would cost millions on open in SF. At t

We need more density. Serious question: do you guys think market rate development will push down prices enough to make SF affordable to the working class (service industry, teachers, etc.)? Or do we need subsidized / below market rate

Sometimes you need a push to break out of your comfort zone. And yes generally people into Pinot Grigio, even the best ones, could use a push. Alto Adige has fantastic and interesting other varietals.

Good. Alto Adige is full of great wines to explore. Don’t fixate on one producer — and try other varietals too.
