I should clarify, in production projects, materials may end up being a much greater overall part of the process, especially if the production is heavily automated. However, 3D printing of tool steels seems like it is aimed at lower volume p

Actually, I’d be surprised if any of those were good candidates. Turbine blades in jet engines aren’t even machined now - they are grown out of inconel. Valves are highly dependent on surface finish and frequently multi-material setups - e.

For those who may be unaware: martensitic steels encompass all standard tool steels, e.g the ones used for knives, springs, dies, files etc. martensitic means hardenable. Being able to 3D print these into arbitrary shapes vs machining them

Even better would be for RPGs and things like Roll20. I’d love to deep fake different voices/ character faces on cue.

Is it possible to just pay a shipping container company up front to use materials that are more friendly for repurposing, with an agreement that you buy it after it is used? That way you wouldn’t necessarily need to strip and repaint it.

This is true, but also unhelpful. We all make significant choices all the time that cannot be proved effective, these are heuristics and not scientific theorems. The gist is that this is more like avoiding rock climbing because you don'

You knew it was folly...Some people want rationalize rather than observe. Our government's situation looks an awful lot like ignorance and error, not malice.

INTP here. Starting projects and having multiples at once sure seems comfortable, but, ADD does not. It is a measure of rigor that there are projects that get done. Now, there's something to be said for projects that were always "

ideally, there would be a 3rd path, which would be direct forgiveness of those debts for a small period. All creditors would take the haircut, instead of the debtors. this means that incoming money would go back into the productive economy.

As a general response to negativity here (which seems to largely stem around technical concerns over what is implemented and how), I think this is cool and fine. As a kid I would have figured out a way to get around this, and that would hav

My surfacebook also has a terrible screen resolution. 3000x2000. I don’t know why, but windows can’t seem to handle interface scaling at all, and a lot of the apps I used failed to be usable on that super high res monitor. I wanted it to wo

I've had 2 surface pros. I find them to be incredibly unreliable. They unpair from the lower half and drop peripherals, and the stupid trackpad! Its just awful. It is just so mediocre.

I've always wanted live monitoring from SLR/Nice Camera straight to iPad for focus/composition monitor. There are hacks to get there now, but they all suck and cost a lot.

Agree with you! And yet, if people want to liquidate it does drive the price down, but, the market is about price discovery and valuation - the company may have different beliefs about its value and different preferences, hence buybacks.

This is important, especially for those workers who do not qualify for a 401k. There is an interesting problem where if workers get a 401k or IRA, then buybacks probably help them by driving asset appreciation in a tax free investment vehic
