That issue was actually recalled and given an extended service warranty period, I think. Otherwise, those 2015 ones responded well to being baked in the oven, if you still have yours.

Can anyone explain why normal ventilators don't just use flow meters on compressed air with a solenoid? A standard pilot valve pneumatic solenoid can switch much faster than this. with regulated air pressure, and an air filter on the

I’ve found recently that ferrites really help with this. The electrical noise from large steppers is really erratic, but responds well to ferrite beads with 2-3 wraps. I put one at each end of the cable, since back-EMF is very real in large

I had actually used EMI shielded wires - but, I think I must have had a faulty connection from shield to ground. Practically speaking, EMI shielding is hard to get right if you're not a pro. I only recently got an Oscilloscope and was

Another downside to it is EMI. tying all the wires tight together increases the odds of any EMI problems vs letting them be loose in the wire duct. In a previous CNC machine, I zip tied everything together very carefully, but was getting ph

Some of us like this in our leaders. I guess I subconsciously want to hear the truth, and assume less subterfuge if people are not using political speech. Kindness and political speech have me second guessing, which is more uncomfortable th

I agree with this wholly. I very much doubt that many people are building tools in bad faith to consume money. It’s just that in the end, “solve everything” means implementing 10:1 weird hacks for edge cases vs actual features that companie

I wonder if there needs to be some personal liability here, too. Many individual bankers have been banned from working in the industry for willfully ignoring the laws/rules. I wonder if that is necessary in this industry, too?

I didn't know Carlos, but when I've heard this sentiment before I've boiled it down to mean that you shouldn't solve _a_ problem, but instead solve _someone's_ problem.

I mean, whenever I have this problem, I fall back on my (terrible) SPSS habits and just recode NaN to -999. With integer datasets that mostly works fine. You could come up with some alternative solution, too. Personally, I'm an amateur

Kind of selection bias, though. A lot of getting into college is dependent on already being an OK writer. I was pretty good when I got in, studied Econ, and was pretty ok when I got out, without much effort. I ended up with a job where I li
