My understanding of the parent's post was that someone with -2 vision may expect roughly perfect vision as their eyes age. I couldn't find a study with data, but there are anecdotal guides online (for picking reading glasses) whic

I experience that feeling too after watching other people play. It's hard not to compare my current progress with folks that have mastered various aspects or who have been playing for years. That said - my first 100 hours or so were wi

I enjoy that this was posted to HN. Factorio combines all the fun parts of my day job (algorithms, simple maths, tackling solvable problems) with a fairly quick reward cycle. It has some very fun scaling challenges at every level of play. F

Thanks for posting this. From the wiki page: > an increase in CO2 results in a decrease in blood pH,[2] resulting in hemoglobin proteins releasing their load of oxygen. Conversely, a decrease in carbon dioxide provokes an increase in pH,

Haha amazing. I guess I was still waking up. It's too late to edit so I must leave the mistake for all to see. Thanks for pointing it out though.

Thank you for finding that. It seems like intermittent cold exposure may be the primary key then. I wonder if breathing exercises help modulate the bodies response to the cold. More oxygen available may mean better brown fat thermogenesis f

Thank you for posting this! This physician summarized studies[0] that showed that blended food spiked insulation vs. the same food that was chewed. His information seemed solid, so this title was surprising to see. 0 - https://ww

Thank you for posting this! I rely on an IL-6 inhibitor currently, and used to rely on a TNF-a inhibitor which became less effective over time. Seeing these influenced through breathing, meditation, and cold exposure is really interesting.

Similar for me - there was a real sense of accomplishment on my first win in Slay the Spire on the easiest difficulty setting. To think that players have >90% win rates on that setting, much less on Ascension 20 is remarkable. I've

Interesting, I pay for the professional tier, and do not see a separate dropdown available for storage. The professional plan lists 5gb/user (at a rate of about $5/month), and the only way to scale up storage on my dashboard page

I'm happy to see ProtonMail getting exposure. I moved over from gmail about a year ago, and have been quite pleased with their service. Only downside I've seen is that there isn't a clear way to increase available data storag

I have Crohns, and want to expand on what Hinkley is alluding to. Some drugs modify the expression of a disease which prevents further damage, and others just mask the issue. Disease modifiers like methotrexate or stelara will suppress aspe

I love these debug stories. My interesting one was from a job repairing computers in high school. My older colleague was upgrading a 486, and couldn't get the system to boot on the first try, but if you hit the reset button after it wa

I noticed this behavior starting around the time the ranking algorithm became more ML driven. I think this may have been late 2015[0]. I switched to Duck Duck Go a few months back, at first for privacy reasons, but now find myself preferrin
