It sounds like its working as designed. It just uses the audio as a side channel to transmit telemetry data. Unless you ran the resulting video / audio through something specifically meant to remove this then even a recording is going

Depends, we could always create a cryptocurrency which renders and plays doom in a distributed manner. Reward people with "DoomCoins"

If you are in the U.S, you can get sued for anything (See patent trolls). Doesn't mean they will successfully win, but can you afford to fight?

But they didn't report it did they? Playing devil's advocate a bit here, but they could have reported it for a bug bounty but they instead chose to use it to create a jailbreak.

I like to go with a brief "what i've done and why". Maybe "BUG-123 (Broken profile page) - Fixed missing CSS".

Maybe not so much of a problem in C++ but look at JavaScript. With the millions of dependencies / libraries you import, if they all used free standing functions you would inevitably end up with collisions.

I'm assuming this can be mitigated by using SSL/TLS. Have a read over at https://crossbar.io/docs/Secure-WebSocket-and-HTTPS/ - Not sure how you would do certificate pinning though.
