Are comparisons to slavery missing the point? I understand that companies are always going to go for the lowest bidder, but if the lowest bidder was mistreating it's workers and they know about it then it's socially irresponsible. Companies like Apple have plausible deniability when it comes to things like this. That's one of the major reasons they outsource rather than building their own factory. Apple is built on vertical integration.
