It reduces both commercial RE demand in cities and less focus on everyone living inside the city. I’m living in rural NY thanks to remote work. The US is spread wide and I don’t think emulating Europe will work in the case of US.

Yes. I really believe the main thing is the density of cycling networks and their separation from traffic. Bike trails in the US that are fully separate from traffic are very commonly used. Trails that do road sharing at some parts are not.

Most of these SaaS services have enough availability to practically not be a problem.

Bike lanes aren’t magical. They need to be practically everywhere, not just a few roads. They need repair stations on the lane. They need to actually be safe and separate from the car traffic, preferably you shouldn’t be interacting with ca

Which would be a problem solved by allowing more remote work, and even giving tax incentives for not living near offices. Our society had a huge opportunity to make a huge dent in vehicle usage too without waiting for public transit to catc

At this point I want yearly elections because it seems like election year is the only time the government does its job. Maybe even monthly elections!

They are when the pricing for them is set by one or few entities. They’re also a necessary expense. It is the last thing a person can choose not to spend money on.

There are some discussions that shouldn’t be legitimized with a real reply. Imagine this being a public street. A stupid comment would get heckled. If the commenter decided to stay there with a megaphone yelling about it, they might even ge

So you see, if you’re not at least middle class a lot of these options (go remote, for example. Or shorten your commute) are not realistically achievable.

I’ve used “preparation” as an excuse to go research and expand my knowledge. I’m not and will never cram down algorithms for an interview. So far that strategy has worked for me /shrug.

This is a very miscalculated take. Work is minimum 8 hours. Add another 2-3 hours for commuting, getting ready for work, and getting ready for being home. Add about 2 hours for cooking and clean up. So far we’re at 12-13 hours. Add at least

I agree with you. The go standard library uses sentinel errors. ErrNotFound is actually good to use, because otherwise, a `Get` call can end up returning `nil, nil` (*Value, error). Which is just bad.
