Same for Twitter. You can disable the account and when you re-enable it 2FA is disabled.

The police don't address gang violence, they react to it after it happens. Gang violence has been declining in the US despite no change in policing.

This has been the case for quite some time (10 years or so). I've torn apart two Macbooks to specifically test this and the LED is enabled when the camera receives power. It's impossible to disable with software. You can modify th

It's outrageous how these companies have taken charge over individual businesses. Some restaurants don't even know that they're listed on these delivery services and get their search results more or less hijacked by internet

Incredibly telling that the police still pull this type of thing despite how laser-focused everyone is on their behavior right now. It's almost as if they've been institutionalized to think they're better than everyone else.

Isn't this ultimately asking me to imagine "what if the bad things were good things" - their endgame isn't going to convince me that the site isn't incredibly frustrating.

It's easy to hijack a consistent username too. If you're "foobar123" on a dozen sites I could register "foobar123" elsewhere and do damage to your "personal brand" pretty easily.

I wouldn't just blame ads, the implementation of the new design is awful. Browsing the site as an anon is a complete tire fire (especially mobile), constantly losing scroll position and often not loading content at all... comments are

I see this come up a lot and it seems silly, let's summarize: • The ad was about a political stance they disagree with (Antifa) • The upside-down red triangle was specifically used to mark groups of prisoners who participated in anti-n

Kinder than it's ever been (at least for the short term)! We can (and do) archive this stuff in a way that doesn't go up in smoke from a single library fire. It's searchable too.

Sorry, I misread. The annoying aspect to me isn't the change in dimensions, but the inaccurate baselines. If we could reliably align text based on its baseline it wouldn't be an issue. "align-items: baseline" would be br

Yes different fonts have different dimensions, but I'm talking about the same font across different browsers. The issue is that Firefox and Webkit render the baseline of some fonts with a 1-2px difference. It's impossible to verti

These rendering differences also impact vertical alignment with specific fonts, which will absolutely drive you mad if you're trying to troubleshoot. Take a look at Github's redesign in Firefox. Button and icon alignment are gener
