There's also https://github.com/cpm-cmake/CPM.cmake which is mostly a wrapper around FetchContent with good caching. I used vcpkg for https://github.com/zig-for/snfm - it made builds easy, bu

This is probably a screen recording with a bit of video editing on top. My fiancée does this sort of thing on a contract basis sometimes.

Yeah to be clear I think Copilot Workspace is a great start. I wonder if the future is multi-modal though. Ignoring how obnoxious it would be to anyone near me, I could foresee narrating my stream of thoughts to the mic while using the keyb

For adding and refactoring it can be a great tool. For greenfield development, it's more tricky - yesterday I sat down and started writing something new, with no context to give Copilot. Mid sourcefile, I paused to think about what I w

As tempting as it is, according to food safety guidelines you shouldn’t leave rice in the rice cooker for more than 12 hours, even on “keep warm”.

I work as a non-roboticist at a robot company. Most of my job is to enable people with PhDs to do work and to clean up after people who hastily stood up some sort of infrastructure (either actual infra, tooling, or libraries) so that they c

Do you have source on this syntax? Does the `[n]` actually do anything here? Fooling around in godbolt, `void f(int n, int a[n]) {` is the same as `void f(int n, int a[]) {` and doesn't appear to change assembly or generate any warning

`Or(URLProtocol, str)` Regardless - this is very much a strawman. I could (try to) pick apart the example, but I'm not going to. Sometimes a complex interface is required, sometimes a simple one.

I don’t quite follow here - you can still declare interfaces (Protocol) to declare what behavior your code needs.

I'm not sure I get this article. I somewhat agree with the conclusion (it's ok to pass structures by value! sometimes!), but the (counter)example code looks like it's compiled with warnings off.

No, but that’s a fun idea. Most of my docker crimes involve working around the lack of REBASE or similar to transplant a layer from another stage. Instead I’m forced to abuse rsync.

That’s cute - though typically the docker images I build need supporting infra around them anyhow - I’d have to forward to the build script.

You can use rsync with some magic to get at the files, but it's not much removed from using cat.

Dive is great. It struggles a bit with very very large images but beyond that no real complaints.
