Well that's part of it. You need to have the experience to know which methods and processes give you the most value and quality for the time invested. There's many skill sets involved and knowing good processes is just one.

It's mostly based on the skill and experience of the developer. Of course there is probably some asymptote in the quality and delivery time that is impossible to surpass, like the 3 minute mile. Human brains are not without limits and

It's possible to write software with very few bugs if you're very experienced in the language/framework and software development in general, writing all the code yourself, and perfectly understand the requirements. Otherwise,

This is a tangent, but does anyone know the max number of sprites you can have animated in JavaScript before it gets sluggish on a typical computer running Chrome?

I don't think so, because it's right after "real need" which is referring to students. If it is as you suggest then it's a badly formed sentence.

Let me rephrase that as "There aren't enough 6'1 college-educated WASP men who look like football players and are charismatic and extroverted".

I think the difference is that you can make software using just a computer, whereas for a robot you need to order a bunch of physical parts and put them together. The cost is much higher and you can't just tweak physical parts like cod

I don't think it will pop. Instead I predict it will just oscillate back and forth a bit and stock prices will trend horizontally for a while. I don't have strong evidence for this, it's just my gut feeling.

One alternative is to replicate some of your data into a different DB that is safe for the data scientists to use. And that way, they have raw data to play with instead of logs.

But do you find racial slurs acceptable when rappers use them, or when they're used in Hollywood movies, or books like The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn ? I guess I don't understand why people selectively find it so offensive.
