Living in places is not what we're discussing. Immigration is becoming a citizen of another place. Americans can move almost anywhere. Becoming a CITIZEN is an entire different kettle of fish. I feel like this is where a lot of misunde

An exit tax? There is no such thing. Are you talking about the $2300 processing fee? You're paying for the paperwork and interviews. You're not going to be a citizen anymore so it seems fair to require you to pay for the time and

This is incorrect. The US even in the current time has one of the most open immigration systems in the world. Which is awful, but it is nonetheless true. Try to become a citizen in Europe without having a familial claim or a ton of money. Y

If you do get the chance to take the train, I recommend it. My wife likes Chicago and since we're in Ann Arbor we go about once a year. I refuse to drive to Chicago because it just makes me mad, so we take the train. Hop on in Ann Arbo

No bears in the Ann Arbor area sadly. You have to go a bit north to get bears. But those areas are easily reached via car. My parents for example live 3 hours away (220-ish miles) and they get a couple of bears a year bumming around.

Cadence makes some of the most incomprehensible pieces of niche software I've ever had the pleasure of encountering, so I got a bit of a grim chuckle to see a blog post from them about software complexity.

WiFi printers work great--assuming you assign them a static IP address and you set it up by telling Windows/OS X to use that IP address as the port address instead of any goofy auto detect nonsense pushed on you by the manufacturer.

I have gigabit up and down in my house in Michigan for $49/month. Fiber, a new ISP. We got lucky in my town because the city owns the phone poles and is very open to leasing space.
