I think most (entry to 5 years of experience at least) people who work at FAANG companies spend dedicated time studying for interviews. They also know exactly what their company is looking for - leadership principles for Amazon, for example

I think on the whole, stackoverflow has vastly improved overall global code quality. Even if you just limit it to people largely taking solutions wholesale from SO, I still think that it’s a good jumping off point. Of course it’s a mistake
