Do the situations ever get resolved if you don’t send the letters, or do you use the letters as a basis for having a more mature conversation after? I sometimes do the same thing, and after I get my ideas out/vented, I end up rewriting

I've found the iPhone notifications to be very handy in this regard though - I throw my watch on the charger when I shower and then pick it up whenever my phone notifies me it is done charging. https://daringfireball.net

Any idea yet what happens to those of us upgrading from Win 10 Home with a local account? Is this signaled before we finish the upgrade process or do we just get locked out?

With AT&T at least if you want the highest priority on their towers you have to be on their Elite plan (QCI 7 I believe), which is post-paid only

Some communities have their own forums they use too, and I’ve only stumbled upon these by accident. It would be nice if there were an index somewhere that kept track of them.

Does Amazon have an ESPP? I don't think they do. They also aren't really giving it "for free", they're giving it instead of additional salary, and when it vests you can choose to sell it all immediately to make up t

I hope it would let you choose whether or not the video feeds are cropped in or not, but I haven't seen anything to support this. One issue I have with group FaceTime that I noticed during the pandemic is that it crops off the sides of

Sure, but your website needs to make me trust you over other similar services, and also needs to give me a good reason to use your service instead of going and requesting removal myself at the numerous data brokers directly. I forgive poo

I've seen these types of services before but I am hesitant - now I have to trust my information to yet another party. I say this as someone probably in your target demographic - your website feels very cookie-cutter and doesn't in

Huh, how did I not ever hear/find out about this when I was choosing a provider... I think this is the first time I've seen them mentioned on HN, despite searching through quite a few de-googling threads. Will definitely take a cl

I've tried using this ad blocker before (I'm sure I saw a mention of it on DF or HN a while ago) but disabled it and went back to AdGuard. It misses too many ads for me and doesn't give me enough control (I like specifying wh

Do you have any resources to read more about the research teams and their findings? Most of the articles I'm reading are very hand-wavy about the specifics/science and I'd love to actually learn more about the cause and condi

This is my plan when I eventually don't have a choice and need to replace my TV. But I am also worried: we've gotten to a point where manufacturers ship products with a known backlog of bugs and plan to fix them with software upda

I've found for this reason I can never listen to new music I'm excited about when coding (i.e. a new album release by an artist I like), but I can listen to the radio and music I'm already familiar with without an issue.

As someone who uses UniFi Protect and refuses to use cloud-login: I disagree somewhat. It works fine, but the mobile apps become non-functional even on the same LAN. I haven't ran into any other problems.

The only coverage I can find for this is from 2018, but even their brand new top of the line mirrorless cameras from 2020 (Sony A7S3 for example) still require a kernel extension. Suffice it to say I'll be using a Windows VM to update
