Especially their design page: http://www.google.com/design "[Google Manager]: Guys... Could you make it modern, like Microsoft Metro, but maybe decrease the padding between tiles and maybe add some blurry shadows."

Yes, and it seems Apple is slowly becoming the pre-2013 Microsoft. Funny times!

Change jobs every 1-2 years (not just a salary bump, but a varied experience as well). Get a long-running side project, where you allow yourself to refactor as much as you want .

Read it with a little grain of salt. Author seems to be clueless about C# (one of the sources of inspiration for Swift): "I don’t think of C# as mainstream. It’s probably to do with the kind of thing that I do for a living; but a propr

I guess it's a good advice. Somehow similar to unit-testing: don't test or do outsource things that don't need to be of high quality.

Driving a bus is not a middle class job. Also politics is not automatable in the nearest future, so could be a wise choice if you have an aptitude.

Sounds like an excuse for writing bad code. I work with people who deeply care about the code quality yet somehow open to refactoring and design suggestions. If it is worth it, it is not going anywhere: care, refactor, maintain.

"MYTH #1 Apple Has The Best Designers" - don't want to be a troll, but it's enough to say "iOS7" as an anwser (e.g. http://www.nngroup.com/articles/ios-7 )

The language is not "innovative" as they claim, so people are expecting at least some learning from mistakes of prior languages. They could've hired some smart people from more software-oriented companies or something.

They want everyone to think same way and use one single multi-purpose scripting language. JS as a bytecode is a less favourable outcome for them for some reason, maybe because everyone would stop caring about using JS directly. Hence the un

I think it would be a safe bet to wish that ES7 has a better support of second generation quantum computation primitives and a good implementation of exocortex interoperability APIs.

They equally could've called it SQL256 or XML2000 and then explain that it doesn't mean what the abbreviation states. I guess there is no need to argue for us, but personally prefer names that reflect the nature precisely. At leas
