I'm not sure how Lavabit worked exactly, but ProtonMail, at least in its web version, is far from secure. An attacker could compromise their web servers and serve malicious JavaScript, thus intercepting the user's passkey.

Why don't get why people are downvoting this. One may agree or disagree but it looks like a valid point.

I want to believe this is the case, but the article doesn't manage to convince me. It doesn't provide a single valid argument that can substantiate its claim.

I think this comparison doesn't make much sense. jQuery is a low level lib aimed at providing something that is easier to use than the DOM API while doing mostly the same. Vue.js is in a completely different league. It's like comp

Exactly my thought. Every European country I've lived in works in pretty much the same way. Of course saying it comes from Japan makes it look more sophisticated ;)

CERN's budget is ~1B USD, which is 5% of NASA's, 25% of ESA's. And I won't even get started with Silicon Valley big corps. Considering you have to pay for an electricity bill equivalent to 1/3 of Geneva and the sala

Well, I guess if an ambulance manages to reach you quickly chances increase? I don't know. Anyway, I guess they do increase dramatically if there's a defibrillator available, right? At least that's what this suggests: http:&

Don't take me wrong, but I think that if anything this makes regular expressions harder to understand. The syntax is super verbose.

That's a pretty positive thing which is unfortunately overshadowed by his endorsement of Trump. Yes, Peter Thiel endorses an overtly xenophobic and visibly sexist candidate.

What does that have to do with monarchy? The same happens in some republics. E.g. in Portugal there is a prime minister (government) and a president who acts as supreme commander of the armed forces.

This. Configuration flags increase complexity. Every time you change the feature in question (or add something that uses it) you will have to take into account every possible flag combination.

As a web application developer, I second the motion to officially thank the Chrome development team for this. "Backspace" triggering "back" is a usability disaster, and not only for inexperienced users. We recently had i

We've been using dateutil/rrule for a few years. I can say it's one of the must-have modules in Python apps that require the concept of recurring events.

I would like to highlight dump1090, the ADS-B encoder. It has become a "must-have" for RTL-SDR enthusiasts. It is small, simple, and works great.
