"pdfunite" is part of the "poppler-utils" package on Debian-based systems. (But older versions of poppler-utils don't include pdfunite, so the "gs" solution might still be useful.)

There are at least three major flaws in the 7-line C program, even ignoring character set issues. (main returns int, argv[1] can be null, and strncpy doesn't always null-terminate the target). If you're going to compare languages,

No, it merely assumes one byte per character. For example, it would work correctly in Latin-1 or EBCDIC. In any case, the problem statement (though it's a bit vague) requires building a truncated string, not just printing it.

The advice about storing pointers in integers: http://cpphints.com/hints/7 is poor. It points out that converting a pointer value to "unsigned long" so you can perform arithmetic on it is a bad idea -- which

We've had blurry images of Pluto because of its tiny angular size. The fact that its closer than some of the things Hubble has taken better pictures of is not relevant. For example, here's a Hubble photo of Mars: https:/

Not really. The problem isn't that Pluto is too close (Hubble has taken excellent pictures of Mars), it's that Pluto is tiny , specifically in angular size.

uint32_t is promoted to a signed 64-bit value only if int is 64 bits. Even on 64-bit systems, int is typically 32 bits. Does TBAA mean type-based alias analysis? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alias_analysis#Type-based_a
