Considering the vast majority of people who have overcome addictions with the help of religion and a religious community, "completely baseless claims of wellness" is pretty exaggerated no?

I was just about to say the same thing. Thomas is the first person who comes to mind. He said he wouldn't believe Jesus rose from the dead unless he saw him and his scars. Job is an entire book about wrestling with God. It's all a

There is plenty of material on this topic already, and as other people pointed out the topics that you've mentioned would require some very specific experience that likely only a handful of people around the world have. It's great

I forgot about how much services absolutely suck on Linux even if you legally paid for them! I paid for Disney+ to watch Mandalorian and I spent an hour trying to watch it on my Linux device because I don't have a smart TV. Apparently

> That's mostly failure to use C++. Isn't this the no true Scotsman fallacy? It looks like you're agreeing with the parent poster that a lot of people use a small subset of C++ to pretend that it's C with extras. If t

I don't get why you're getting down voted. This seems like a well balanced approach. I feel like so many programmers these days focus on "pretty" code and not readable code. Hidden complexity is hidden complexity. RAII h

I'm genuinely curious then. Is the IMDB parents guide enough of an outside perspective for me to determine whether or not I want to watch a film? I'll frequently look it up to see if the film contains any material that I don'

I really don't understand why people are down voting you for this. The end does not justify the means. There are much better ways to tell the story of how young girls are hypersexualized without sexualizing the young girls in the proce

Because I choose not to watch something that implies it may be sexualizing young girls? So by this logic if you see a trailer for a movie that's highlighting the dangers of child pornography, but from the trailer it seems to be showing

I respectfully disagree. I haven't seen cuties, but I just watched the trailer. The movie may be a good thoughtful coming of age movie, but the trailer (at least in my opinion) did not characterize that at all. If I watch a trailer and

If you lose your mind about a sexual education class, I agree that's misguided, but saying they have a low IQ because of that? Maybe a low EQ if they can't control their emotions, but it's absurd to automatically equate emoti

The creators can shadow ban people if they want as well. Most of the time, it's probably creators who are sick of seeing low quality critiques that aren't helpful. Things like "I don't like the way your voice sounds"

Ok, clearly you do not know how to trace a "random" segfault. Segfaults are not random, you said so your self. It's when you write to, and I quote (you), "an unallocated page, in which case you get a segfault". Well

I completely agree with all your points except for the fact that tracing a segfault is harder than tracing an undefined object in JS. JavaScript will happily chug along with an undefined object and do random stuff as well. It may not throw

Your point on talent/skill development rings so true with me! At my company they created this required training course for all SE1 and SE2 level positions. I'd be completely ok with this, except for the fact that the few workshops

I program in C++ as a hobby and typescript for my day job. I would say if anything it's just as hard trying to figure out why a JS object is undefined as it is finding out why you get a segfault in C++. I will add it's really easy

I think one of the most basic facts that we can't agree on is what constitutes a man or a woman. It's a very simple problem that a 5 year old can point out, yet we somehow lost sight of this very basic fact.

I don't see a counterargument here. "Microsoft did that". Yes, and they still lead the global market share for desktops and laptops. I would like to wager that most breaking API changes don't actually need to happen. I
