The biggest issue with the Greater Houston Area isn’t just the lack of green spaces for natural absorption but the compaction of the ground from over pumping ground water decades ago. Many of the municipalities that are not Houston proper r

In Texas alone, Rita, Ike and Harvey were all devastating. I’m not sure what relation you’re referring to in “relatively.”

ESL is really really good. Absolutely cannot be recommended enough. I’ve worked through at few times and it’s a great book to have on the shelf. ISl is good but as it being an introduction book — the lack of higher order math wasn’t my favo

I stand corrected. Early reports were reporting that many were not able to obtain loans due to the fund being consumed. I’ll delete my comment.

I attempted to but the driver support just wasn’t there for my laptop. WSL2 works fine and it also means that when I want to game I have a wider selection of games to play.

But you can make the argument that your space is being used by your employer. Many contractors claim tax deductions based on their rent or mortgage due to the fact that a percentage their home is used for business.

Have you looked into WSL2? I just recently switched from Mac OS to windows and it really hasn’t been a bad experience. I would go full Linux but the drivers for the GPU on my laptop seem to be a bit of a mess currently.

I think it’s when you have to download the Xcode CLI tools that many packages rely on. But you do it once and you never do it again. Definitely not equivalent situations.

Do you have any suggestions on laptops? I've been using a MacBook Air 2013 as my daily drive for a good minute now. I've been eyeing the Razer Blade, while the build quality is enticing, the battery life has me worried.

Absolutely -- one of the tools I wish more classrooms used. Even in a CS program, its surprising how difficult it is for many students to provision the correct software.

It’s not about helping those in need. It’s about putting money in hands that will actually spend it. A solution to recessions is increasing Aggregate Demand. People spending money does just that.

I’ll look it up later but if you look at any of the recent computer vision conferences and search for things like anomaly detection with either or attention or lstm networks you should be able to find stuff.

In the example I gave about anomaly detection, what’s being detected as normal or an anomaly doesn’t need to be labeled by a human. This just comes down to probability of temporal data. This temporal data can come from segmentation which ag

I've worked with filters and spectral analysis and you would often do this in CS in Digital Image Processing. The point isn't what you use the FFT for but what the FFT does. The FFT does fast polynomial multiplication.

You're probably right -- and even when I saw it elsewhere it was still within the CS department. For instance we glanced over it during my Digital Image Processing course. The professor did introduce it as a form of fast polynomial mul
