Writing a formal spec in itself is a way to introduce clarity to thinking, because when writing it the spec itself lends to asking more and more questions about the things you might not have thought of. More so if there are tools to check y

You need to use Temporary Container's shortcut to open the tab, I think extensions cannot override builtin ones.. (And you need Temporary Containers in the first place: that's the bit that creates fresh new containers.) For me the

Yeah, I don't think the speed performance of FCGI vs CGI is really about spawning in 2023: the benefit lies in the fact that the app can keep state and resources between requests. In particular, it can maintain a database connection al

Well, the used-to-be-true logic also resulted in scripts to find where there were core files, to remove them :). At least in Debian and Ubuntu systemd-coredump is a separate package (and wasn't installed by default for me atleast), so

Quite disappointing someone would enable that kernel option without fully considering the ramifications :/. Do some distributions use systemd-coredump by default? I not just learned about systemd-coredump and I'm wondering if it c

Why limit yourself to Emacs, even if it might be the best desktop solution around? With Linux, Jack/PipeWire and https://github.com/eras/midihidi you can use your MIDI device with any app! Granted it doesn't

I wonder though if this could be solved with edit lists, supported e.g. by ISO BMFF. Not all players support them completely, though, for example I believe mpv only supports one edit, so I guess that's not useful for general purpose us

Curl can connect over unix domain sockets and ssh can forward them, I feel this would be a decent way to forward authentication as access control rules would apply to the sockets.

Well it does make the developer try harder to have a vulnerability. You can't just forget to bound check an array indexing, you need to actually take instructions from the Internet (e.g. eval, import, or exec in case of fail2ban), but
