I did, but it left ambiguities. There are already standards here (OBD), but extensions beyond that standard often require vendor software. It isn't clear what the actual requirements are. I can't imagine that they are requiring ve

In practice, what does this mean? No more restricted parts? That the service tools and software will be available for anyone at a fair and reasonable price? And if so, who dictates what is a reasonable price for the required software?

Yeah, tbh, the fact that they allow side loading makes up for this, IMO. I still wouldn't necessarily buy one. I've found that I like the Google TV ecosystem a little better. But being able to sideloaded whenever needed makes it m

That's my thought as well. Although probably part of the reason for them extending the cycle is that consumers are more comfortable with the idea of keeping the devices longer. And, tbh, that makes sense too. Three year old phones can

That "opens by itself" angle is their excuse for not allowing good Alexa or IFTT integration.

TBH, that's better, as that is a problem that could be fixed. Even if we had to switch to a tilt sensor and just retain control, that'd be much better than their approach. IOW, this real reason is better than their dumb comment ab

They do not support opening your own garage door via IFTT, Alexa, or Google Assistant. They do support allowing their paid partners (eg, Amazon) to open your garage door for deliveries. I think this last part is where they get "value&q

Yeah, I always felt like the implementation wasn't that good. But, tbh, rate limiting them and saying "hey don't poll quite so much" would have been trivial compared to the approach they ultimately took. And obviously pe

TBH, I've always felt that the HA integration with myq was likely a burden for them. It makes way too many requests, IIRC. But that isn't really their reason. They don't allow IFTT to open the door. Alexa and Google Assistant

I think it is more likely that they'd all outsource tower construction to a small handful of companies and leave congestion roughly equivalent to the current state. TBH, this happens a lot in large stable industries.

One thing that I've currently wondered about quantization... peft seems to require a GPU. Are there any current quantization approaches that make fine tuning more efficient purely on a CPU?

It sounds more like a path prediction problem than one of not seeing them at all. I'm guessing they expected it to still handle them as well as a human driver would, even if it relied on the adult pedestrian logic. I have doubts as to

FSD Beta definitely has the most capability. But that also means that it requires the most hand-holding (literally, since it isn't hands free). Super Cruise and Blue Cruise have the benefit of offering hands off on the highway, but als

This seems like the best free voice recognition in general. Is there a model that is the best at wake word detection? The last that I looked, it seemed like this was fairly lacking.

I feel like the US mindset is heavily opposed to monopolization. We don't like monopolies in markets, governments, or working arrangements. That doesn't make worker's unions bad or good, it just makes them one more player in

I wonder the same thing. There's enough there that it could replace the basis for Chrome OS, right? I wonder if that could happen in the near-ish future. Maybe also it could find its place in Google servers, and more... eventually?

I just wish there were a great virtual machine manager for Pixels. Apparently it is now possible without root, but only nestbox is available, AFAIK. It might be ok, but the monthly fee isn't a great deal, IMO.

I feel like that outcome is inevitable. All implementations have bugs, and developers implement for reality rather than for a spec. Inevitably it leads to drift and the need to retain things that weren't right to begin with. See also,
