I was in a team where this just worked, and I've missed it ever since. I had another team essentially bully me out (by withholding information and not inviting me to meetings with the justification that "I didn't want that&qu

Little known (possibly unintended) feature, but you can put the `toplevel` attribute of a nixosSystem into docker image `contents`, which lets you use NixOS modules to set things up. Just be sure to import the minimal preset, because those

Why do Americans always read backroom politics into everything. How does the GDPR help EU tech companies? I hope you're not about to tell me it's a ploy to bundle up resources for compliance in US companies or it levels the ground

Everyone knows that? I'd say that's a misunderstanding of the motivations behind EU law. If you think this is the result of lobbying work or protectionism, let me ask a simple question: Why does the GDPR exist?

At this point I'm wondering what happens if the EU invokes their malicious compliance clause, and tells Apple outright what to do. Will they just refuse and hope they don't lose the EU market? I think one point lost in most of the

Sure, if you want to be pedantic about it. Though this is pretty normal for EU law to give a lot of preparation time. The GDPR had 2 entire years - and I still got some emergency compliance tickets in the week before (worked at the eCommerc

Thankfully EU legislation has very severe penalties built-in that are mostly deterrants (think the 4% turnover maximum GDPR fine), but if anyone deserves to be hit with the full force of the law, it's Apple. Even Meta, who are also hap

US law does not apply in the EU, and having subsidiaries in the EU is common and almost required for GDPR compliance.

Regardless of the validity of your comment: How is this relevant? Is it because Spotify is Swedish? I assure you, this is not EU protectionism, this is EU consumer protection and anti-monopoly behavior - something US regulators seem to have

Oh, c'mon, you weren't this specific. And I was. A 240mm rad is large by normal standards. Sure, a 360mm one is larger, but also usually not needed and you are likely to run into clearance issues.

Didn't pick the right fans for going extra slow. These run at 1700 RPM by default, whereas Noctua has a version - even in the redux line - that runs at 1200 RPM. Though the non-redux like gets even slower - so much that Noctua includes
