As a developer with personal projects, I do all system admin stuff for my side projects.

There are most likely many ways to check if a number is a power of two. I'm not sure if my solution is more efficient. It seems your expression would create more code than mine.

Pop count returns the number of set bits. So it most useful for figuring out if a number is a power of two. If there are more than 1 "set" bits, then it is NOT a power of two. However, a non portable way of determining how many bi

That will work for sure? I'd have to really start taking things apart.

Not exactly sure because I don't have the laptop on me. Do you have model specific advice I should know about?

It reminds me of how I set a boot password in the BIOS on my HP laptop. I now have forgot the admin password in order to remove that "feature". I have no idea how I can fix it. The laptop is bricked. I can't install Linux on

CPython is an interesting read. The internal type system (PyObject) is pretty cool. It also uses type pruining instead of a discriminated union.

Reminds me of good will hunting, where he was a janitor but was smarter than professors and really good at math.

Databases are one of the most fun computer science topics. And I don't mean _databases_ from the perspective of an admin or even a developer, but a database developer of the internals. I love trying to read the code of complex systems

I'm only 25. Maybe I'm too old, but talking to a device/machine has always seemed very unnatural to me. I don't think I'll be buying one of these.

Another UI thing I noticed on the Android app. If you're viewing a tweet or someone's profile, the link in the upper right menu to view your own profile disappears.

I've had code on GH before without a license. It took a while to go through every file and add a license header. I know I could of used sed/awk and probably made life easier, but I didn't feel like it.

open up chrome console, type `class Foo { }` and it works now out of the box. For what it's worth, when you try define a class that already exists. it throws an error. It seems that re-defining an identifier with the `var` keyword will

This narrative is bullshit because it doesn't matter. At the end of the day, the client doesn't give a fuck if it's written as a CGI perl script, much less if it's between a javascript framework and a library.

The only proprietary software that I use as a matter of choice is Microsoft products and VMWare products, For something as trivial as a text editor, I wouldn't dare use something closed source, proprietary like this.

What is C associated with if it isn't "server side". It must be be server side, you can't exactly compile and run C code "client side".

So, MSFT is injecting code into a binary? This probably won't be a popular opinion here, but this does seem like a pretty good definition of malware to me. It doesn't make it okay that just because it's MSFT they can get away
