With launch screen, you mean the new Start screen? All Start menu shortcuts automatically appear there (except if they appear to be uninstallers and such, but those are still searchable and can be added manually). So if you tell Steam to cr

As a user of both Windows 8 and Mountain Lion, I fail to see how either can be perceived as being a closed system (other than being closed source). In Windows: "Metro" apps didn't exist before Windows 8, and normal apps don't have any origi

This is what choice is about. Like the start screen? No problem. Don't like the start screen? Use one of the many start menu replacements.

Here in the Netherlands, only one of the five IMAX cinemas actually showed the IMAX 3D HFR version. The other four only showed IMAX 3D and 3D HFR.

To be precise, having an optional secure boot is required for the Windows logo certification. If it cannot be disabled, no logo certification. See "Windows Hardware Certification Requirements for Client and Server Systems" [1], requirement

Microsoft currently requires non-ARM PCs supporting Secure Boot to have a user-accessible option to disable Secure Boot in order to obtain logo certification. Even if you leave it enabled, there are several options to boot a non-Windows OS:

Metro already is completely optional. The only difference you'll notice is the start screen which replaces the start menu. There's even third party software (like Classic Shell or Start8) that disables the start screen and replaces it with

In my country, only one of the 6 IMAX cinemas is showing the movie in IMAX 3D HFR, the others only show IMAX 3D. All of them offer non-IMAX 3D HFR versions, though.

The score for IE10 is 320. It's close to Safari 5.1, the previous version of Safari, which scores 319. Of course, it's not as high as the current leader (Maxthon 3.4.5 at 457), but IE10's got a decent score, and is definitely a big improvem
