Valgrind Works with OS X nowadays. Plus, Xcode has the benefit of Clang's Static Analysis being built right in . You really can't beat checking one box and having it automatically scan over your code when you build to point out a lot of

Is it really fair to compare the amount of headaches that an OS that came out in the middle of 1998 (and isn't even supported by the vendor anymore) gives with the amount that an OS that was just released this past year would give?

Are people who spend all day helping animals get better naturally weird? How about those that spend all day looking at tax forms? Every job has its quirks. People tend to choose jobs where they have quirks that fit. This isn't exclusive to

You already said it: But Apple can't find the margins in the product line and the equation means that they have no offering for this huge hole in their lineup. It won't have a good profit margin. Why should Apple waste time on it? They ha

How many people that install osx86 actually buy a copy of OS X and then modify everything as necessary themselves? It seems like its far more common to find it online and then complain when it breaks.

But I think the exception to Apple's behavior is that there are large numbers of customers who would be more than happy to fork over another wad of cash for an Apple branded netbook (in addition to their existing systems) and Apple has (ye

The good people contribute to Darwin and the other core Apple projects and their code ends up in mainline os x. Could you link to some commits on Macosforge that were based on patches by people from osx86? This is the first I'm hearing of

One could perfect this to an art really. Get your ip to start changing, have Chromium open on a hotkey, use ctrl+shift+n to go incognito (or just have it auto-load in incognito), have the poll set as your homepage. You can clock alot of vo

Perhaps. But more often than not it's an inherent complexity in the problem space itself. That isn't to say there is only ever one way of performing an action or that it is impossible to make it clearer how to perform a task. And if you m

Not to be a Negative Nancy® here, but the problem is that "You're Doing It Wrong." If you're just wanting to get your questions answered without any sort of input to the project, I think perhaps you're missing the spirit. Theres more reas

You can find an Intel Mac Mini for ~300 on eBay. Its not terribly expensive or hard to get set up. All I'm saying is that you may still need a Mac if you intend to put your app on the app store (or on your own device if you don't jailbreak)
