But they are getting the same junk as everyone else... " Everything is “reservable equipment” of garbage monitors, windows keyboards, and 400 dpi mice."

IMO, an expensive keyboard/mouse/monitor isn't necessary for a junior to succeed. Plenty of coders learned on much worse.

> to generate comparable amounts of power to conventional sources requires huge amounts of landmass. It would take about 0.01% of the US land area to generate all the electricity we need. Meanwhile we use 30% (over 1000x) to grow food.

How are solar and wind not sustainable or efficient? We've just recently hit the 20% mark here in the US. I'm all for a smart blend of nuclear/wind/solar/etc to achieve clean energy https://electrek.co&#

Absolutely fewer people. Yes, I agree a subway is better than car tunnel, when costs are ignored. But LV doesn't have $30B to build a subway tunnel. But a car tunnel can be built for roughly 100x less, $300 million.

Why are subway stations so much more expensive? Because of the size, right? The Boring stations seem to be much smaller.

Agreed. But subways cost so much more, $1 billion per mile in many cases. The Boring tunnels look to be around $10 million per mile.

With Vogtle 3 & 4, the only nuclear plants coming online in the US, the construction costs are now projected to be $30 billion for 2.2 GW. We'd need ~1000 of these size plants to power the US. That's not going to cut it eith

No one is suggesting PV alone. My understanding is that Germany already gets more power from wind. Wind still works at night and in the winter, right?

The average household uses 893 kWh per month. At your 4.8kWh per canister, that is 186 canisters per month, or six canisters per day. This is useless for typical home usage.

I ditched all 400+ CDs and 300+ DVDs (and some 50 LPs). They just took up space, and never got used. I've just recently paired down my book collection to 20 from 250. I just don't need all this physical stuff that I rarely use.
