I'm getting tired of Google dictating how the web should work. That's the job of standards bodies. Google is increasingly taking the place of overbearing overlord that Microsoft embodied in the 90's and early 2000's.

He wants to make it into a movie though. I hope he is considering a high-level TV series a la Game of Thrones. I feel like there are a lot of nuances that would get lost if made as a movie or series of movies.

Although unlikely to be a lightsail I think, this reminds me of the Rama series by Arthur C. Clark. I really wish someone like HBO, Netflix, or Starz would pick that series up and make a show out of it.

I haven't had Facebook in going on seven years. Not once has someone said anything like, "I only sent the invite out on Facebook. I forgot to invite you!"

I recently joined a gym and have met several people there I now call friends. They also all know I'm not on Facebook so these new friends text me (usually) when they want to get in touch outside of the gym. Guys, you're proving w

I suspect the difference is that they still "see" you there. So my friends can't see me, even if they're looking for me and maybe that triggers a reminder in their minds that they need to call/text/whatever me

It is evil but it's really not as necessary as you think. I'm known to ALL of my friends and ALL of my family as someone who will not ever be on Facebook. You know what they do? They call me. Or text me. Or email me. And I n

Some of these companies are sounding more and more like the embodiment of The Circle with Tom Hanks and Emma Watson. I've experienced it on a smaller scale years ago when it wasn't nearly this bad. Little things like feeling l

The radio industry is going to be a shell of itself (if it isn't already) in the coming years as driverless capabilities reach the point at which people no longer need to watch the road. Then they'll be on their phones and tablet

One great example at how good he was at conveying emotion with Big Bird was when Big Bird had a guest appearance on The West Wing. Didn't say a word, and the scene lasted all of about ten seconds, but was still hilarious.

And that's fine. People should be held responsible for their actions. But my point is this; when the default is to use a machete when a scalpel would have sufficed then the net result is not going to pleasant.
