I've been using Vim for over 20 years yet every time I read an article like this I learn something new. How did I not know about `ci "` until now?!

I've worked in a situation like that and felt productive but that was only because we were all basically on a tiger team locked in a room together to work on the same project. Me and one other developer, a tech writer, a QA person, an

This is true. Amazon needs tons of code just to get to the point of being able to even run Apache or nginx at all, and all that code written by contributors for free. So is your argument that all of those developers, or, at least the Open

I don't understand where this sentiment is coming from lately? All of a sudden there are people who seem shocked that corporations are profiting off of Open Source software, even though nobody in the community has ever had a problem w

Too many Open Source developers discount the value of documentation. I all too often hear, "It's Open Source so the community should step up and write the documentation." To which I counter that the best person/people

This has broken docker-sync for me. I get the error: mkmf.rb can't find header files for ruby at /System/Library/Frameworks/Ruby.framework/Versions/2.3/usr/lib/ruby/include/

You know; I just realized I should clarify some confusion I myself may have introduced here. My original comment suggests the trigger is always matching a domain regex but domain isn't the only trigger. Content blocker authors can ma

Apple themselves recommended Ghostery Lite. I feel like that one had some trouble in the past but I can't recall why. Regardless, I installed it and Magic Lasso to see how they do. I used to use Wipr with some success but it appears

Actually, I've been using content blockers on iOS and I haven't noticed any ads coming through. That's not to say they won't/don't ever but my browsing experience is noticeably smooth on that platform.

The content block lists will get updated frequently just like the ad block lists. And, sure, it’s a cat and mouse game just like it is with the add blockers. But at least this way is more performant and secure. In the end, as has been said

There is a lot of confusion around this issue. Some people are taking this to mean that Safari has completely banned ad blockers, which isn't the case. Instead they've switched to a model that matches what they've been doin

It doesn't help that they have clearly filled the audience with Apple employees who were instructed to whoop and holler and when to do it. I understand the motivations for doing so. A product announcement like this would otherwise be

There is a lot of concern in this thread about open source projects needing funding and they're not wrong. There are a lot of projects that are underfunded--most of them, in fact. However, it's not like the developers of and cont
