Type `1. <text>`, then just press Enter to add new items. Press Enter twice to finish the list. Also, tab and shift+tab seem to work to indent and unindent, for sub-lists.

Shift+Enter is your friend, at least in that one particular situation. Alt+Enter seems to work as well. Ctrl+Enter will send the message.

I got extremely lucky on my first try as the letters were well-positioned, so I got it right after three guesses. And the answer was AWARD. I did not have such luck on my second attempt, which left me SURLY. I liked it.
