The big problem is the incentive structure. TC39 can't introduce breaking changes because browsers won't implement breaking changes. Browsers won't implement breaking changes because users would switch to other browsers which

Yeah, which is mildly frustrating, but it doesn't ruin my mood the way a human getting mad at me would. I just call them back once I get everything I need, and feel no rush.

"None of us" is a strong word. I actually prefer scripts to humans. Scripts don't get mad at me if I take a long time to make a decision. Scripts also don't speak in heavy accents I can't understand, or get frustrat

Swift doesn't have flow typing, unfortunately. It has a few constructs, like `guard let` and `if let`, which let you unwrap optionals in a somewhat nicer way than other languages and are sort of similar to one aspect of flow typing.

There's one difference between nullable/non-nullable types and Optional type, which is nesting, right? I'd assume that while Kotlin's String? is equivalent to Optional<String>, Kotlin has no equivalent to Optional&

If you turn on the gesture mode, it's still largely the same UI, it's just that the "App switcher" button is gone. The Back button is still there, in the same place as before (although it does disappear on the Home scree

I installed the beta the moment I heard the keynote say I could immediately. The new swipe-up-from-Home UI is off by default. I had to turn it on in Gestures. By default, it's the old three-button UI: Back, Home, App switcher.

The confusion comes up when you do a _shallow_ copy: Some modifications will modify the original variable, and other modifications won't. Pass-reference-by-value is just a special case of a shallow copy. let a = [1, 2, 3]; le

But what's the real answer? Imagine my friend writes down my phone number in his iPhone's contacts list, and then installs an app – let's say some random game. The game asks for permission to access contact info, which my fri

Hosting ads on your site isn't actually enough. uBlock Origin can and does block by CSS selector (and that's the default behavior if you use right-click -> Block Element). It _does_ get pretty hard to block if your ads are besp
