Okay, I missed this the first time through, but went back and looked. Sure enough, around 6:36 there's a caption that reads "Drove over sharp curb at 50km/h and resulted in cracked rim when I picked the car up." But ...

Huh. I had no idea the problem was this widespread. For the record, I've never had a problem on any iOS device or Kindle e-reader (iPhone 5s, iPhone 6, iPhone X, iPad, iPad 2, iPad mini, iPad Air, iPad Pro, Kindle Paperwhite, Kindle Vo

Eh. Not much of a smoking gun. On balance, I'd say the owner of the car sinned more than the service people for illegally recording them when they had a reasonable expectation of privacy. It was unprofessional of them to take the car t

I switched from Android to the Windows Phone and greatly preferred it. I liked the look, the responsiveness, and the dearth of apps wasn't a problem initially. I was never a huge fan of live tiles, though, because I like my UI to stay

"Saloon" as a British-ism for "sedan" is a new word for me. As for the article, likely needing to "raise additional capital during the second half of 2019" is a far cry "uncomfortably close to the truth&qu

Exactly. This is an issue with non-profits as well. They delude themselves into thinking they're in decent financial shape, even though they have a managing director, often the founder, who's taking no salary, or a very reduced sa

Excellent points. Yes, I can see an increasing intolerance for reckless and inattentive driving as autonomous cars become more prevalent and set a good example.

My suggestion for pedestrians is to treat cars like guns. Just as you assume a gun is loaded, you should assume a car does not see you. I see people stepping into crosswalks staring at their phones after barely glancing up to see the light

This strikes me as a risk factor that no one is really discussing. We talk about the dangers of Level 3/4 autonomy, where the driver is still responsible for the car, but autopilot is doing most of the work, leading to a bored/dis

This is not only not true but incredibly disempowering. Every person under capitalism has to create value that others will pay for. It could be a traditional job, freelance work, a small business, a startup, being the stay-at-home domestic

It's not hard to imagine at all. Did you watch the embedded video? The pedestrian is almost invisible. On my first viewing I didn't see her at all. On repeat viewing, and with foreknowledge, I could just make out her sneaker by

I just wrote a tiny parser game in Inform, and the language is fascinating. You can create complex, fully interactive scenes in just a few sentences. For example, with just "There is a billiards table in the Gazebo. On it is a trophy c

Going the speed limit OFTEN creates a hazard. Technically speeding is not "exceeding the speed limit" but "driving too fast for conditions." In a torrential downpour with slick roads and poor visibility, the legal speed

Important caveats on the Microcenter pricing: that's $1,000 OFF, not $1,000 total. And that price is only available for in-person pickup and limited to one per household. Nice if you can take advantage of it, but not for everyone.
