It looks like he didn't reverse-engineer the Netflix data protocol. What he did is use a HDCP-stripper box to get access to a raw decoded HDMI signal. The HDCP-stripper also had a screenshot function which he used to get snapshots of t

It's not a counterpoint. Netflix's actions, from a network perspective are not neccessary, at least not Europe-wide. My ISP is more than able to cope with it. I've been checking at peak times and I can consistently saturate m

The issue I have with that is that if everything is done by the backup server, it has the ability to both create and destroy (prune) datasets (snapshots), which means it has the ability to erase all of the data and all of the backups. One t

For people who don't want a proprietary solution, there's GnuCash on the easier end and Beancount/Ledger/hledger etc. on the harder end. Beancount in particular has Fava which is great for analysing spending and inflow&#

The decision isn't made real-time by actual people like I think you're suggesting. The rules are well-known and set in advance by the SEC and exchanges. In this case it's SEC Rule 80B and NYSE Rule 7.12. You can read more abo

I get your objection but I don't agree with it in this case. As someone who is neither you nor OP, I see GFC as a pretty well-known acronym, especially in this context (recessions, financial troubles).

So long as Google Play Services is installed, there's only so much you can do to limit it. It's essentially equivalent to giving Google root access to your phone. The best thing you can do is cut off Google completely. Install AOS

I concur with the other commenter. I think it's a flaw in Google Assistant/Alexa if they're solely able to function using the online service. The bridge provides a well-documented and stable local API which these assistant de
