Microsoft Edge's source code isn't available. We don't know really know what kind of stuff they patch in. It's just that Google keeps most stuff in Chrome open.

I doubt this will work. Web browsers have an insanely large scope. Building a general purpose competitive web browser takes hundreds of full time engineers. I can't imagine you can fund such a thing with donations.

Do you have a rough idea whether doing this on the GPU is worth it on mobile devices with regards to energy consumption? I imagine many typical web and UI toolkit uses of this aren't limited by raw performance.

In the comparison it seems like Skia is quite a bit faster on the CPU than your solution, but at the cost of some robustness. Is this actually something that matters for typical applications like web browsers or UI toolkits?

As far as I know a native Chromium port to iOS is well under way. Whether Google will release Chrome is a different question, but I think it's likely. I think Google would love to bring Blink Chrome on iOS everywhere and there is a dec

I think it depends on what solution space you are willing to explore. There is the possibility for regulatory action that restricts native ads. It's seems plausible that a flood of AI content tanks the prices for native ads, so some mi

Without comparison to the accuracy of crowed sourced blocklists it's not that valuable. Maybe there is a group of hopelessly overworked blocklist maintainers/contributors, that I'm not aware of. If so, their cries for help d

The training data for ChatGPT is so vast, that there is a fair chance it contained a very similar example. I mean it’s genuinely hard to come up with math problems that aren’t either very difficult or have well known solutions.

I don’t get how people jump from “it doesn’t work sometimes” to “never use it”. You can write raw sql when the ORM fails. But for many queries the ORM does work, so why not use it?

We have to stop talking about resolution only in terms of being able to see pixels. Not being able to see pixels is not the final limit to human vision. If it was 4k monitors and TVs would have never become a thing. There are other aspects
