I was sitting at a stoplight and looked over at the car next door and saw there was some video playing on the dashboard in front of the instrument cluster. I thought it was one of those completely digital dashboards that was doing some kind

Did skeuomorphism go too far in the wrong direction? I think it's gone too far in the wrong direction. I don't mind my notes app resembling an actual notebook that I would use. Compare Notes.app to say, OneNote. Having floating te

Does anybody use Bard on the reg? I keep hearing about these updates and I try it, and it still seems way worse than ChatGPT's GPT-4 model. I've given this thing way more chances than I normally do. Feels like it's the Bing o

Maybe you might know. I assume most webpages and native apps are harvesting all data available that they can get their hands on that the users/OS will let them take and then selling that off to the highest bidder. Including information

This chain and this comment is one of the best things I've read on here in years. It reminded me that a lot of community colleges have workforce programs that I need to look into: https://www.nvcc.edu/academics/pro

So strange putting this out in public. It's almost like it was entirely written to investors.

There are probably only 3 social networks I've gotten a lot of value from: YouTube, Reddit, and HN. HN has contributed massively to my career by exposing me to so many different ideas and concepts. It actually filled a void that Slashd

I'm a big fan of this. Borrowed a Tesla Model Y and have test driven several EVs. It definitely takes some getting used to but I'm a convert now.

I never thought about it that way. Sounds like step functions could end up "spaghetti code on steroids" if you do it poorly.

Yesterday I went to their website looking to hopefully rent a Cadillac LYRIQ to try out before buying and I was shocked to find that their website is stuck in the early 2000's. Unbelievable.

I cannot fathom a non-linear or even random decrease in range due to external factors while driving a vehicle. This is making me rethink getting an EV for my next car. I can only hope/assume this will get solved for in like 10 years.

That is a shame. I was looking at that SUV and 40F isn't too terribly cold around where I live. That stinks that it over halves the range of the PHEV.

I have no data. All I know is personally, nobody I know uses it, nobody sends me links on it, and when I last visited it was all highly curated corporate or celebrity accounts. No thanks.
