The bigger worry would be if they removed some IP addresses from their list. Those IP addresses would be juicy targets for hackers to scoop up and attempt an attack knowing that people have whitelisted them and that they allow access to wh

It was essentially killed during Google I/O (May 2017) when Google announced that it would add Kotlin as an official programming language for Android development. This gave Kotlin a huge boost in visibility at a time when a number of

Yes, for the majority of the English translations verses map to each other exactly with a few minor exceptions. NIV would map virtually exactly.

Well in the article he ended up compiling thttpd statically so he wouldn't have dependency conflicts if he ran it directly. Funny how there's overlap in docker solutions that solve different but related issues for non-docker depl

I don't agree with having libraries in their own repositories. For us one of the biggest costs to fixing bugs in libraries particularly was having to then update all dependent projects with the new version. By moving our libraries in

The only thing I've found to be half-ways usable is x2go. With it you can have a rootless window session. I still end up using VS Code Remote development tools a lot though.

Well from their website they have 3 offices and 1700 employees in Ukraine so I'd guess this hits a lot more closer to home for them than your simulated conversation suggests.

It's much easier to deal with moisture when it's largely restricted to the interior of the shower! Easy to wipe down the sides and then leave the door open to allow the remaining moisture to evaporate. Seems superior to having t

One thing that's kind of silly about most of our shower stall designs is their open-top design. While a few are sold with caps most are not. Having a cap on top of the shower allows for lower ambient temperatures in the bathroom whil

I grew up on a small farm with chickens. They had plenty of space, were free to roam the yard during the day and yes, they could be vicious and cannibalistic if a chicken was injured.

Ah, but China holds all the financial levers to keep everyone in their place. If there were a war there'd be no "Made in China" goods being exported. Take a look around you and think about that for a few minutes. They can

You seem to be assuming that the producer/grower and retailer are the same company. There are often disconnects in supply chains like this where someone is hemorrhaging money while others in the chain are doing quite well. And beside

It'll be interesting to see what the used car market for EVs looks like once they age out where the battery packs start degrading. Not sure they'll have the same long-term value that quality ICEs do today.

I'm curious what your issues were with Duplicacy. I looked at Borg, Duplicati and Duplicacy among others when I was evaluating a backup solution and eventually settled on Duplicacy and have been pretty happy with it. The only issue I

Looking back on it now I think our revulsion to simply using "throws Exception" ought to be re-examined. In practice, while it's nice to know exactly what kinds of exceptions are being thrown it could be the emphasis on this

Honestly, I wonder whether GPL and AGPL world be considered open source licensing if they were released today. Ironically, it's commercial interests that have made the Apache-like licenses popular in the first place.
