Oh, language is rotten if developers use libraries and abstractions? When was last time you wrote an application in "raw" Python/C/Swift/Erlang? (Whatever "raw" is supposed to refer to, is standard lib all

m.imgur.com executes ~500 KB of javascript. That's the only problem. You don't need that much code to show few images with comments. (Wether server-side rendered or not.) The desktop site is even worse, scripts weighting ~1.5 MB.

I would love to see a documentary / an interview of the developer (team?) behind these Chinese crappy products. Are they really that incompetent or is it just totally different culture? I mean, after all they are capable of bundling th

The market is saturated. I've bought many of my family's recent iOS devices as second hand. A generation or two old devices are still fast enough for casual use and offer great bang for the buck.

Pagination on screen sucks, but is sometimes better than badly implemented scrolling. This being said, scrolling should be the default option, because it's much more natural and usable on screen. One should only fallback for pagination

Chrome-only demo is unfortunate in this particular case (I also use another webkit variant). If you ask me, scrollable page with screenshots is still better than video.

Interestingly you can get out DPI display signal from GPIO pins. Adafruit is using this technique with their Kippah display, giving you fully accelerated display signal (unlike those crappy low-fps-low-res framebuffer driven GPIO displays).
