Same, it was incredibly difficult to focus on the text on this page for me. And I don't have any problems with my eyes. On top of that it kept switching from dark on light, to light on dark, making it even worse.

I haven't used Sapper, but I've read a bit about SvelteKit. Afaik the main reasons for the rewrite were to clean up the code, and make the framework platform agnostic. This means that you can use different adapters for SvelteKit t

I think the point was that the user's comments didn't add much value to the site. If you don't have anything of value to say, then don't say it. Reddit is probably a better platform if you just want to say "nice&quo

Another reason is that we design websites for mobile users primarily, which requires more spacing due to touch input. And it's easy to just leave it in there for the desktop as well. It's also often more visually pleasing at first

Imo the problem mainly lies in Google's square. All SEO tools exist for the reason of it being possible to game search results in the first place. It's inevitable that companies will offer tools and services to do so when there&#x

Does that really mean that the rate of thinking is slower though? I would say it just means that the rate of conclusions from all of the thinking might be slower.

The (billion dollar) company I work for in Europe has a policy that they hire twice as many women as men. Women also get twice as long contracts and better career paths. They are also trying to hire a lot more people of color. Statistically

Ye, I don't understand why they added back the numpad to their newer keyboards, it makes no sense from an ergonomic point of view. The lack of an attached numpad was the reason I bought the Sculpt in the first place. I had pains in my

I use my Sculpt with Windows, but I've tried using it on a Mac Mini m1, and it was horrible due to the lack of drivers. Maybe that plays a part in terms of the wonkiness as well.

As a mainly frontend developer, I agree. I've spent more time configuring tooling, than writing code, in this new project I'm starting. I don't want to write plain JS, but the top used frameworks have strayed so far from basi

I don't want to sound like a pessimist, but that feels like a rather large number to sustain over a long period for a book like this. It convers a niche field in a language with a relatively small userbase. I would love to be proven wr

The title is clickbait, since the article is actually NOT about bringing back spacer GIFs. It's just about creating a spacer component, which loads of component frameworks already have.
