If I walk by a stand, it cost them something to give me their homemade crafts for free(they have less to give away) With software development the only thing lost with giving it away for free is the opportunity cost that someone might have p

They asked about instances and you responded with nodes. From the redis comment it sounds like the way to scale a redis node is to increase the size and run multiple instances in parallel. Saying it's "apples to apples" would

If the models are so good that "who should pay to use copyrighted work?" is not a relevant question, doesn't that mean that all money that would previously go towards artists is now going towards OpenAI? How does new art get

Can the same argument not be made for forced labour? Is the US not lowering it's capacity to innovate and grow it's economy by preventing the use of forced labour(even in other countries)? Why should these "guardrails" s

Interesting way to put it after seeing a very specific "centralizing of power", that being the people with the most capital making the decisions. Why would centralizing power in a different way(e.x. democratically) not lead to a d

The search engine wasn't the problem though, it was paywalling the information so less people had access to it. How do for-profit models served by for-profit companies make information that was previously "pay to learn" more

Is it not more like lossy image decompression? Just because the jpeg you're distributing isn't the same bytes as the one I have copyright to doesn't mean you're not infringing my copyright. You're still taking my co

I don't understand what you are saying. How can the RLHF phase eliminate bias if it uses a process(human input) that has the same biases as the pre-training(human input)?

This is not sounding like something modern then, if anything it's sounding like it's always been bad and we're only now recognizing(or having the channels to openly discuss) how bad it is.

Megacorporations owning copyrights to the majority of IPs(music, games, etc.) is a capitalism/monopoly problem. How does getting rid of copyright and allowing your company to profit off other peoples work in any way solve that issue?
