Please don't change the native browser scrollbar. The one that you have now is very hard to see and hard to click on (too narrow).

I did the same for my self-hosted product, chose MySQL + PHP, one of the simplest stacks possible that's supported by almost all hosting providers out-of-the-box.

I just made my own "blogging" platform, where I simply render markdown files using PHP: https://github.com/Cristy94/markdown-blog I am also using Ghost on a different site, I like their clean editor.

I made and use my own.[0] It's most similar to posthog or matomo, but focused on self-hosting, so pricing is a lot easier to predict. How much traffic do you have? [0]: https://www.uxwizz.com

I find it weird that the big "problem" is setting cookies on the visitor's device and not that you send all your visitors' data/stats and browsing patterns to Google...

I noticed this is an issue, even for a technical person like me, sometimes writing SQL queries takes a lot of time. I am working and improving the text-to-SQL feature that I added to UXWizz: https://docs.uxwizz.com/guides&#x

Thanks for the comment. > We do not tolerate paying for votes or other means of artificially boosting score. Let's be honest, posting a PH and getting top 5 has NOTHING to do with the product. It's all bots and politics. As soo

Hey Ilias, Thanks for sharing! DataFast looks cool, I like how Marc combined the revenue metrics with the analytics metrics. That gave me some inspiration :) I'm curious if you ever heard of my UXWizz analytics platform, and what you t

Don't get me wrong, the product looks cool, and very useful for data analytics, balancing, game design, etc. Just for the anti-cheat part, I'm not convinced.

How does this even work for anti-cheating? Antic-heat software has to go through many hoops, installing itself at the kernel level, and yet, some cheats still by-pass it. How would a server-only approach be more accurate? Or the goal is not

Yes, when you purchase, you get that version + free updates and support for a year. After the first year, you can still use the software, but if you want support or to get the newest features and update to the latest versions, you can pay t

Just curious, do you use their cloud or self-hosted version? I thought the self-hosted version is no longer supported. Is the free cloud tier enough?

In what sense? Because most issues arrise in this thread are about future updates, not the ownership of the current product. With FOSS you get no guarantee for future updates. Many products that started FOSS, did it just to use it as a lead

It does make sense, though? If the developer has to work to change the product to work for new MacOS versions, because of API that Apple changed, the developer should be reimbursed for the development time, right?

Not all software has to be SaaS. Self-hosting is easier than ever nowadays, devices a lot more capable. Soon, smartphones will be able to run powerful LLMs locally, so no need to use a paid GPT app subscription. Take Photoshop for example,

For UXWizz (also mentioned on this site), it makes a lot of sense to have a one-time payment, because it's self-hosted. For many products and services that require active services/cost from the developer to run, it's harder t

This is why I sell my products with a one-time payment (lifetime access/usage), but with an optional support/updates payments. It seems to work quite well for both my customers and my products.
