Of course there is no proof, but could we agree that Google would make an exceedingly useful front-office for the NSA?

I have only ever see Fx being used to abbreviate the words "Effects" and "Framework". Never for Firefox. However, Wikipedia confirms that people do use it for Firefox. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FX

I disable them in most places by simply turning off Javascript (with the Quick Javascript Switcher chrome extension). One place that didn't work is at Forbes.com because they're using CSS to implement that particular annoyance.

So, what is your policy for when a contributing developer sends you a pull request that adds an enterprise edition feature to your community edition? Ignore them?

Gitlab seems to be another one of those "half-open" source projects where an arbitrary set of features is only available in the "Enterprise" edition. - https://www.gitlab.com/gitlab-ee/

Windows 8 is a huge step forward in my opinion. It's faster and more stable than 7, the touch drivers work great (I use desktop apps all the time on my Surface Pro and Dell Venue Pro 8) and it's paved the way for running Windows o

This is certainly true for me. I've convinced myself that feeling happy is just a choice. The philosophy has done wonders for me. When I'm paying the proper attention, I can take a bad situation and make it positive just by decidi

Yes, it is. The perceived authority here is society. Everyone should call their mom, right? Wrong.

Well clearly to do it from the UI you would open the previous version of the source that you want to deploy and then click Publish again.

It seems like you're missing the point of why most .NET developers are using .NET. They don't use it because they want to be part of the FOSS wild-west hack-fest (aka "the Bazaar"). They use it because they want "th

What is elegant about the use of an environment variable? From what I can see on the net, the requirement for all GO projects to exist within $GOPATH mainly seems to confuse and annoy people. A couple of examples: - https://group

Not sure how accurate these figures are, but they make sense considering the environment - I asked Adobe (just before they released CS3) why it supports Mac OS X. I received a response from Russell Brady, PR Director of Adobe. According to

I think you're giving Microsoft too much credit. Linux on the desktop failed for a lot of reasons. Major fragmentation and lack of focus are some major ones.
