The SEO text is auto generated by Slideshare. Download the PDF and things should be easier to skim. I try to make my presentations make sense online by using "sticky notes". But you certainly have a point.

What do you think about this approach: http://koenatclaes.com/ ? (currently on the frontpage there is a slideshow) I'm thinking of doing my next one like this, it makes more sense from a UI perspective.

I put the same slides on SpeakerDeck. They will be available shortly here: http://speakerdeck.com/u/wolfr . Alternatively you can download the presentation in PDF format from SlideShare too. I re-saved some of the slides to display a stat

If you scroll down there's a transcript which you can c/p from, but I agree that it's not ideal.

Hmm. Good point. Although using px makes for an easier example, you don't have to mention the scale in which you are sizing your ems. The example was about the spacing, not about the unit used to determine the distance between heading and p

I agree, this is also mentioned somewhere in one of the last slides. As a designer I know about MySQL, the terminal, PHP, Javascript, jQuery, RoR, Sass, HTML, CSS etc.; if a developer knows the basics about color, typography and alignment

Sometimes I prefer video (esp. if the delivery is very good) but for learning purposes I prefer reading since then everyone can choose their own tempo.

If you use 16px, the 1.5 line height I use for paragraphs becomes 24px, which ties again with the multiples of 6 rule again. So your lines are actually 24px high, if you then use maybe 48px for spacing around your blogpost, things look bala
