I cannot read the article because there is a paywall, but does the author imply that it is a new trend? It can be worthy of coverage even if it isn't trendy, provided the author does not cast it as such.

Fit in with the company culture, assuming it is healthy.

Pointing out things like privilege tends to be seen as a sore loser mentality, regardless of truth. Sore losers have no place in hustle culture.

It can be more complicated that that—take pride for example. Admitting you were wrong in buying that property in the first place is not a look that a company wants.

Unfortunately that is up to the people writing the checks. Their goals and the goals of Firefox enthusiasts are not particularly aligned.

If it is common for the rich to not truly understand unhappiness while living a comfortable life, would it also be the case for the poor to not truly understand happiness while living an uncomfortable life?

How do you know cached pages are being fetched? One would be shadowbanned for the same as reasons one is banned. Every large social media company does shadow banning.

You redefined firing to be whatever you want it to be. It's a bit nonsensical to assume all firings are employer abuse.

Because when you are laying people off and giving them a severance, you are taking more care of them than you would be if you were firing them. That's the entire basis of this comment thread.

Thinking that it is a rationalization is often times a rationalization by those who can't fathom turning down money.

That doesn't really change anything. Throughout the design phase Apple was fully aware that a large portion of users would use AirTags this way.

It sounds like you are confusing being fired with being laid off.

It is poor design only if we are calling this misuse. For the record I don't think Apple is doing anything of the sort. They knew exactly how these AirTags would be used, so they wouldn't blame the user as misusing the tags.

Leftists are more about dismantling capitalism and legalizing all drugs. Disliking corporate greed is not a left/right or political position, but a moral one. Wouldn't you say the same about other types of greed?

Not that I condone it, but can you please point out exactly which laws are broken when you lie on a resume?

My apologies. I was making an Arrested Development reference. Then AussieWog went ahead and, well... I'm a bit surprised they did not get flagged.

If lying on your resume is fraud, then we're going to need a whole lot of prison cells.

Surely you can see how that would be a poor design choice. It's quite a common use case for tracking devices like the AirTag.

I'm sure a non-zero number of ex-Apple interns will try putting "Senior Software Engineer" on their resume for a $350,000 director gig at a startup.

Gender roles certainly exist. Why wouldn't age roles, socioeconomic roles, or racial roles exist as well?

Same for age role, socioeconomic role, or racial role. I wonder why we only talk about gender roles.
