Volume is too imprecise. It can vary. E.g. flower. 1 cup can mean a lot based on how rough the ride is from the factory to the store. Salt & sugar have same issue. Based on grain size volume can differ while weight (and thus cooking pro

Sadly, the .zip tld wasn't a joke. Edit: holy **** I just realize this is googel, not google. And yes, I had to fight autocorrect to correctly misspel googel.

I'm glad you posted this. I moved to the USA 7 years ago, and my eyes have aged. All I remember is less glare in Europe because the ECE design is better than DOT, even though ECE shines further, the cut-off is better. But from what I u

I wish it would all be disabled. On iOS it is absolute hell to load any page due to it jumping around, and then you scroll and some video starts playing. Do you want me to read the page? Or get distracted? Either PIP with a too small x, or

Human language is also way more ambiguous. One of the reasons I love coding is a massively reduced vocabulary and a way more strict grammer.

But it will not contain my address right? So if I use Apple Pay in store, at say Kroger for 100 times, can they track me? Or do I get a new credit card number every time?

I am not sure if I'm losing it but the following statement doesn't make sense in my head: > Your same card used through Apple Pay on your iPhone and iPad will show different DPANs, though since each device gets its own number.

That's the one that killed my network every evening when I stopped working. My MacBook would go to sleep, with a Dell DA310 plugged in, and serving as its network connection. I would go on a walk and every time the missus would call me

I'm reading that post, and while fascinating, I don't understand the entropy calculation. The digit chance is easy: For a single digit to appear one needs 1/3 * 1/10 = 1/30. For a single letter to appear one needs 1

I can highly recommend the book Ultra-processed People by Chris van Tulleken about what UPF does (and doesn't) do with our bodies. And if you don't want to read the book, here's a ~1h video https://www.youtube.com&

The work to maintain this eventually became too much for me. Everything I did had to have the custom certificates installed, otherwise it would yell at me. Then there are systems on which installing certificates is hard, like your niece

That last point is merely a way for you to get used to this system. Once enough people allow the spying they'll increase the price of you don't allow the spying. And after that they'll mandate it for everybody. I already pay

FYI I have seen many apps that use certificate pinning so MITM becomes really hard. You'll need either root on an Android and make sure the app doesn't detect it. I used Frida with ADB to bypass the pin. Although a quick Google se

So now I need to give up my privacy because I need to let Apple use my GPS / IP address? They say it's their on-device indicator, but that could mean many things. GPS, external IP, cell phone masts... Do I really own the device if

I do the same when I make stew. Take a large loaf of home-baked sourdough bread, and take a slice out of the center part. Spread a THICK amount of Grey Poupon Dijon mustard on it, and throw that in the pot.

Yea. That's correct. I think it would be cool for the player to recognize a 240fps video and allow it to play slow mo. But again, that's a client responsibly.

Oh no. If you keep the 240fps video, that is what a backup is. Which is what I want. How it's played is not a concern of the backup tool. It is a concern of the player. Synology exports. So I record something at 240fps, and then the fi

Question: Do you backup changed photos in iOS? How do you backup a slow motion video on iOS? Synology exports, meaning your 240fps video becomes a 30fps video. Immich retains the 240fps.
