The speed of light ought to remain constant (for inertial observers). So nothing would be different locally as far as I'm aware.

Frankly, I have the 2015 MBP and this still happens to me every once in a while. So a bigger track pad is one of the _many_ reasons I have no intention of "upgrading" any time soon.
