Not actually true. The first year the Famine Relief provided by the British Government was better than anything anywhere else in Europe, (which was also affected). The second and third years the pressure on the Treasury was such that Westmi

Apparently human grandmasters remember around 50,000 board positions and play moves that manipulate the current board position to a more favourable one. They don't see moves in the same fashion that a beginner does. It seems like the

No, that's thanks to unbalanced Devolution which grants Parliaments and self-government to everyone except the English who are still (over-)ruled by the Union Parliament in Westminster.

It's a shame that nobody seems to have understood the comparison you were making. You can directly compare the value of investing money in education and the stock market. If you had $80,000 to invest at 18 you often would be better si

Which looks like an auto-correct issue - I regularly curse when a correctly spelled word (perhaps including partial capitalisation) is "helpfully" corrected to a valid word that is meaningless nonsense.

Re Agincourt. The ground was so muddy that the French armoured knights had to walk their horses rather than charge. That's not the same as fighting on foot - or at least, not until your mount has been killed beneath you by English an

The e-ink screen on my Hybrid HR has faded/burnt-in as well, so the contrast is not as good as when it was new. I have had it almost three years though and I can still read it unless the ambient light is too dim. I find it useful to qu
