Personally, I would want to understand JavaScript before moving on to some abstraction. The official Node.js documentation is written in JS, etc.. Then, once I am totally capable with JavaScript, there just isn’t a great incentive for me to

Using .apply({}, arguments) is actually a bit slower, but either method is so fast that it won't be a bottleneck. I use it in this case for elegance, because I can. Note that in your original implementation this is impossible, because you h
